Chapter 1
The breeze blew though the trees. It ruffled my fur and made me shiver. The forest was silent except for the soft, soothing sound of the wind. I lifted my head to look at the stars. My mother must be amongst those stars, I thought, I closed my eyes as a tear rolled down my cheek. I knew I would never join her for I was a demon I always had some part of me that was always angry and wanted to rip, to tear and any bit of anger that came to me could set me off. A leaf landed on my nose and shook my head making it fly off. I heaved myself up and walked into the dark, mysterious forest.
I stumbled almost blindly though the trees, the leaves crunching under my feet. A twig snapped behind me and I whipped around to confront the danger. A brown she-wolf stood before me. She had long fur that covered one side of her face, the tip was died black and a bit of red. A devious grin spread across her face.
I crouched and snarled at her, showing my teeth. “Who are you?” I growled.
“I am Taiyou and it seems I have found something to eat” she snickered; her voice was heavily accented with Japanese. She suddenly lashed at me, but I reacted quickly and dodged her attack. My fur became black and I became 3 times my original size. I leaped over her grabbing her scruff as I jumped over, when I landed I moved my head quickly towards the ground, she yelped as she slammed into the ground.
“I forgot to introduce myself” I smiled “I’m Silver” I pinned her down and laughed as she struggled, trying to escape.
“ Please I just wanted food!” she whined. My body shook and my muscles quivered and my body buckled under me. Taiyou escaped before I crushed her with my excessive weight. I grunted as I tried to stand up, my fur was white again and I was my original size.
“I’m sorry” I whimpered as I stood weakly “I lost control” a spasm or pain shot through me and I fell to the ground, breathing shallowly. Taiyou gasped as she saw me struggling.
“ Please don’t worry I fine, phasing drains my energy” I managed to whisper to her. She eyed me then turned away and walked farther into the forest with her tail held high. I stood up with slightly more energy and limped slowly towards a cave, where I could stay for the night…
